Job summary

Seneca Resources seeks a senior QA Test Automation Engineer to lead advanced software testing initiatives across SIT, functional, regression, and integration testing. You will design test plans, automate where possible, and ensure quality releases through collaboration with developers, product teams, and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes mentorship, process improvement, and strong automation skills in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of professional experience in software/technology testing or QA.
Strong experience with manual and automated software testing.
Advanced knowledge of test planning, test case development, test execution, defect management, and QA processes.
Hands-on experience with functional, integration, regression, and system integration testing.
Experience developing and troubleshooting test automation scripts.
Experience with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) or comparable frameworks.
Experience troubleshooting web automation using XPath and browser developer tools.
Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC processes and software testing methodologies.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum and/or SAFe environments.
Strong understanding of database technologies and validating application data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain test plans, strategies, cases, and testing documentation.
Lead System Integration Testing, functional, regression, and integration testing for complex apps.
Translate requirements into test scenarios and cases.
Design manual tests with automation in mind and identify automation opportunities.
Execute and troubleshoot automated test scripts and fix automation issues.
Develop and maintain automated end-to-end tests using established frameworks.
Utilize UFT to execute and maintain automated test cases.
Update automation parameterization files and troubleshoot in UFT environments.
Use XPath and browser developer tools to troubleshoot web automation issues.
Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the lifecycle.
Perform root-cause analysis and share technical findings with development teams.
Analyze test results and communicate risks, blockers, and impacts to stakeholders.
Create testing deliverables including test results, defect docs, and sign-offs.
Participate in SDLC activities and Agile/SAFe development.
Support project estimation, planning, and testing for complex initiatives.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and partners.
Identify opportunities to improve QA processes and automation coverage.
