Job summary

Assurety Consulting is seeking a mid- to senior‑level QA Automation Engineer – Level 2 for our Washington, DC operations, focused on enterprise Payroll and USPS‑related systems. You will design test strategies, automate where possible, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure delivery quality.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, perform API and data validation testing, and drive test coverage across complex applications in a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Experience performing manual functional, regression, integration, and system testing across enterprise applications.
• Experience conducting API testing using tools such as Postman or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and testing enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and communicate software defects.
• Experience collaborating with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel ( PivotTables ), Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to design comprehensive test strategies and test cases.
• Execute manual functional, regression, integration, and system testing to validate software quality.
• Perform API testing and validate system integrations across enterprise applications.
• Validate application data using SQL queries to ensure data integrity.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects, collaborating with developers to verify resolutions.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and edge cases.
• Review documentation to ensure requirements are complete and testable.
• Maintain QA artifacts and participate in Agile ceremonies and project status meetings.
