Job summary

UST in Washington is seeking an Automation QA Architect I to ensure quality, reliability, and usability of our software applications. The role emphasizes manual and automated testing, test design, and collaboration with developers and product teams.

You will analyze requirements, develop and execute test scripts, perform various testing types, and manage defects with Jira or Azure DevOps. The position involves working within an Agile environment across web and mobile applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Automation QA experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Good knowledge of software testing methodologies and defect life cycle.
• Experience writing clear and comprehensive test cases and test scenarios.
• Hands‑on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect-management tools.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to understand testing needs.
• Create and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
• Reproduce issues and provide clear steps, logs, screenshots, and other relevant evidence.
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not affected.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, and defect triage meetings.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product managers, and other QA team members.
• Validate application functionality across different browsers, devices, and environments where required.
• Maintain test documentation and contribute to improving QA processes and testing standards.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and blockers.
