Job summary

Playson is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own risk-based test strategies and stress-test the product across API and UI layers. You will partner with developers to ensure high quality in a microservice-based iGaming platform.

The role requires 5+ years of automation, strong coding skills, and hands-on experience with load testing and Kubernetes. Remote-friendly environment with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on test automation experience across backend and/or frontend systems.
• Strong experience with Python/Java/JS/TS/C# in automation and associated frameworks.
• Proven API and UI automation with Selenium, Playwright, pytest or equivalent.
• Solid QA methodology knowledge and risk-based testing approaches.
• Experience with Kubernetes from a testing perspective and data stores like ClickHouse/MySQL/DynamoDB.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve automation frameworks for functional and performance testing.
• Analyze requirements and identify quality risks early in the release cycle.
• Build risk-based testing strategies for new features and changes.
• Plan and prioritize testing with the development team and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain automated API, UI, functional, and load tests.
• Create positive, negative, boundary and failure scenarios to test stability.
• Support and improve existing automated test suites and testability.
• Collaborate with developers to understand implementations and root causes.
• Analyze results, investigate failures, and document learnings for QA improvements.
• Maintain test documentation and promote QA practices within the team.

To succeed in the role, you will have:

• 5+ years of experience in test automation, covering back-end and/or front-end systems;

• Strong experience with test automation using Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or another programming language, together with relevant automation frameworks and libraries;

• Experience with API and UI test automation using tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, pytest, REST Assured, or similar;

• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, test design techniques, and risk-based testing approaches;

• Experience with Kubernetes, both manually and from a testing perspective;

• Experience working with different data storages such as ClickHouse, MySQL, DynamoDB, or similar;

• Hands-on experience with load and performance testing using tools such as k6, JMeter, Locust, or similar;

• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting;

• Good understanding of HTTP(S), XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript;

• At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English.
  

Would be beneficial to have:

• Experience with Python and its testing ecosystem, including tools such as pytest, Playwright/Selenium, requests, SQLAlchemy, or similar;

• Experience designing or developing test automation frameworks for functional and performance testing;

• Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, or similar;

• Previous experience in the iGaming industry.
