Job description

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in UI test automation, end-to-end (E2E) testing, and AI-assisted test generation to join an application modernization project.

The project focuses on modernizing a legacy goods management application into a web-based solution built with React, TypeScript, and Java on Google Cloud. The main objective is to preserve the existing business logic and application behavior throughout the modernization process.

The ideal candidate will combine strong test automation skills with hands-on experience using AI tools and agents to generate test scenarios and automated tests. You will be responsible for exploring legacy applications, understanding business workflows, defining test coverage, and validating that the new application behaves consistently with the original system.

This role requires someone who can guide AI agents, refine prompts, review generated test scripts, and ensure the reliability and accuracy of automated testing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain UI test automation frameworks and end-to-end (E2E) test suites.
• Validate backend behavior and business logic through UI-driven testing.
• Explore legacy applications to understand existing workflows, business rules, and expected application behavior.
• Define test scenarios, test coverage, expected results, and validation criteria for both legacy and modernized applications.
• Perform comparative testing to verify that the new web application preserves the functionality and business behavior of the legacy system.
• Leverage AI tools and agents to generate test scenarios, test cases, and automated test scripts.
• Define expected AI-agent outputs, refine prompts, and guide AI-driven test generation workflows.
• Review, debug, and validate AI-generated tests to ensure correctness, reliability, and meaningful test coverage.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and defects through exploratory and automated testing.
• Work with HTTP, REST APIs, OAuth, and JWT-based authentication to validate application integrations and access workflows.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and other project stakeholders to improve testing strategies and overall software quality.

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in QA Automation and UI test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with an automation framework such as Playwright or similar tools.
• Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end (E2E) automated tests, including validating backend behavior through the user interface.
• Practical experience using AI tools or AI agents to generate test scenarios, test cases, and automated test scripts.
• Ability to explore legacy applications, understand complex business workflows, and independently define test coverage and expected results.
• Experience defining AI-agent instructions and outputs, refining prompts, and reviewing, debugging, and validating AI-generated tests.
• Working knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs, OAuth, and JWT-based authentication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify differences between expected and actual application behavior.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with development and technical teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Knowledge or experience with Robot Framework.
• Experience testing SOAP web services.
