Job summary

Advanced Solutions International is seeking a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States (Texas-based posting). You will lead test/automation strategy, own high-risk specs, and raise portfolio quality while guiding a shared automation framework and a skilled QA team.

Required are 10+ years in QA, expertise in Playwright/Selenium/Cypress, API testing, SQL on Azure, and Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

BS/BA in a relevant field; advanced degree a plus.
10+ years in software quality assurance with at least 3 years in principal/lead role and setting quality/automation strategy.
Mastery of modern web automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress with strong scripting skills.
Experience architecting or directing a shared automation framework across multiple teams or products.
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured and validating open API integrations.
Advanced SQL proficiency, preferably on Azure SQL.
Microsoft Azure components and building/release pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions).
Expert manual and exploratory testing judgment across high-risk changes.
Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
Agile environment with Scrum; team facilitation.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Set test and automation strategy across delivery streams.
Own the highest-risk specifications from refinement through release.
Evolve testing patterns and quality gates across the portfolio.
Collaborate with Test Automation to define coverage strategy and design direction.
Write advanced SQL for data integrity and validation across layers.
Lead root-cause analysis of defects and drive upstream prevention.
Support release-readiness with risk assessment at the release gate.
Mentor senior engineers and grow testing craft within the team.
Promote shift-left testing with product, developers, and DevOps.
