Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation platforms and Python-based backend services for enterprise storage and backup environments. You will build scalable APIs, drive CI/CD practices, and collaborate with infrastructure teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, strong Python expertise, and a track record of leading technical initiatives in large-scale enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and distributed systems.
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience working with Linux-based environments.
• Strong experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence outcomes across teams.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms.
• Desired: Experience developing software in Go (Golang)
• Desired: Experience with enterprise storage technologies
• Desired: Experience with enterprise backup technologies

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complex software requirements to accomplish business goals.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain automation platforms and services for enterprise storage and backup environments.
• Build scalable Python APIs, backend services, and automation workflows.
• Develop and maintain integrations with enterprise infrastructure, operational tooling, and management platforms.
• Design secure, reliable, maintainable, and operationally efficient solutions.
• Create reusable frameworks and components to accelerate automation delivery.
• Code solutions and unit test against acceptance and compliance requirements.
• Design and modify architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers.
• Mentor software engineers and coach the team on CI/CD practices and automation tooling.
• Refine stories, define requirements, and estimate delivery work.
• Perform spikes and proofs of concept to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Automate manual release activities.
• Design, develop, and maintain integration, regression, and performance test suites.
• Provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, operations teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Guide the team’s technical direction and promote engineering best practices.
