Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a software engineer in Dallas to join a dynamic team responsible for full-cycle software development, automation, and security enhancements. The role collaborates with Product, QA, DevOps, and SRE to deliver scalable, secure systems in an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience, a strong foundation in Java/Python, and hands-on work with databases, cloud platforms, Docker/Kubernetes, and RESTful services, ensuring robust software delivery.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines
• Experience in software design, development and automation
• Experience in developing Restful web services (APIs), spring applications and Unit testing using JUnit/TestNG
• Experience working in an Agile environment and good understanding of SDLC, STLC
• Experience working with embedded systems
• Knowledge of industry-standard best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills
• Proficiency in at least 1 programming language (Java, Python)
• Strong knowledge in Operating Systems, multi-threading, callbacks & scalability concepts
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Good understanding of web services, RESTful APIs, Rest Assured, XML/JSON
• Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience/Knowledge with Gradle, Maven, GitHub, NewRelic, Kibana, Splunk, Swagger, Kong Dashboard, Postman, JIRA
• Good understanding of cybersecurity and penetration testing would be a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop full-cycle software including requirements, development, automation, support, and releases
• Enhance automation for SDLC processes within an Agile Scrum framework
• Detect security threats and vulnerabilities in applications
• Anticipate issues and bottlenecks to protect delivery schedules
• Code complex components based on design specs and standards
• Design, develop, and debug scalable, high-performance, secure systems
• Collaborate with Product Management, Customer Success, QA, DevOps, and SRE
• Develop complex systems aligned with business objectives and technical architecture
• Participate in team planning and daily Scrum meetings
• Adapt to changing requirements and deliver projects timely
