Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior software engineer to define and deliver cloud-native solutions on AWS. You will lead feature work, own user stories through production, and drive serverless workflows with Lambda and Step Functions.

You will integrate COTS products, design API interconnections, and build pipelines that automate manual processes while mentoring teammates and raising code quality across the team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Expert-level Python.
• Strong hands-on AWS cloud-native development.
• Proficiency with CI/CD.
• Experience with automated testing and secure coding.
• Ability to design a component and carry it to production.
• Sole United States citizenship.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.
• AWS Certification (preferred).
• Serverless and event-driven development experience (preferred).
• Federal information technology experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver solutions for modern applications on an AWS cloud-native stack.
• Lead feature work and own user stories from refinement through production.
• Direct serverless, event-driven application workflows on Lambda and Step Functions.
• Own integration of COTS products into in-house system frameworks.
• Design and ship API interconnections.
• Lead data and document pipelines that automate manual processes.
• Build cloud-native modern systems that create business value.
• Deliver tested, production-ready code and establish team quality standards.
• Build automation, validations, checks, workflows, pipelines, and automated tests.
• Set patterns for AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q Developer.
• Improve developers through collaboration and mentorship.
• Help launch new capabilities, tools, and lines of business.
