Job summary

Opus IVS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, maintain, and enhance applications across desktop, web, and service-oriented platforms. You will collaborate with a skilled team, contribute to code reviews, and ensure high-quality software through unit tests and clear documentation.

The role emphasizes agile practices, effort estimations, and cross-project collaboration within a SCRUM environment, using JIRA/Confluence and modern development workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience and knowledge in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and object-oriented design principles.
• Proficient with Python IDEs and current coding standards and best practices.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with Django
• Demonstrable understanding of Pythonic object-oriented programming and software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and continue to develop applications using Python, Django/Flask, and PostgreSQL.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and promote team unity.
• Produce unit tests for existing and new code implementations.
• Provide detailed effort estimations when necessary.
• Work in a team environment using a SCRUM Agile SDLC and JIRA/Confluence tooling.
• Participate in an agile development methodology to support many projects and teams simultaneously.
• Create and maintain documentation for existing and new implementations.
• Other duties as assigned.
