Job summary

Opus IVS in Michigan is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, maintain, and enhance applications across desktop, web, and service-oriented platforms. You will collaborate with a skilled team, deliver high-quality code, and participate in reviews and unit tests.

You will provide effort estimations, support multiple projects simultaneously, and document systems to ensure clear communication and successful software development initiatives within an agile SCRUM environment using

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field with at least 7 years of professional software experience.
Strong experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL and OO design principles.
Proficient with Python IDEs and current coding standards and best practices.
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with Django.
Demonstrable understanding of Pythonic object-oriented programming and software architecture.

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and develop applications using Python, Django/Flask, and PostgreSQL.
Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and promote team unity.
Produce unit tests for existing and new code implementations.
Provide detailed effort estimations when necessary.
Work in a SCRUM Agile SDLC and JIRA/Confluence tooling.
Participate in an agile development methodology to support many projects and teams simultaneously.
Create and maintain documentation for existing and new implementations.
Other duties as assigned.
