Job summary

Opus IVS in Michigan is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, maintain, and enhance applications across desktop, web, and service-oriented platforms. You will collaborate with a skilled team, deliver high-quality code, and participate in reviews and unit tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field with at least 7 years of professional software experience.
• Strong experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL and OO design principles.
• Proficient with Python IDEs and current coding standards and best practices.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with Django.
• Demonstrable understanding of Pythonic object-oriented programming and software architecture.

Job Overview

The Senior Software Engineer is a key contributor in developing applications for Opus IVS's cutting-edge products. Collaborating closely with a skilled team, they design, maintain, and enhance solutions across desktop, web, and service-oriented platforms, ensuring code quality through reviews and comprehensive unit tests. They provide effort estimations and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously. Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Proficient with Python IDEs and current coding standards and best practices.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with Django
• Demonstrable understanding of Pythonic object-oriented programming and software architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with web service deployment, hosting, and cloud-connected architectures (e.g., IIS, Azure, or AWS).
• Familiarity with web technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, or front-end frameworks in a single page application context.
