Coherent Solutions is hiring a Senior Python backend engineer to own backend services end-to-end. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable Python/Django systems, architect distributed components, and collaborate across product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver high-availability features.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Solid Django experience and asyncio proficiency.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka.
• Distributed systems or microservices background.
• Containerized deployments with Docker on AWS or similar.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and SQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana.
• Strong problem-solving, code reviews, and Agile work style.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of backend services from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems in Python/Django.
• Architect distributed systems to support millions of users with low latency.
• Own APIs, data pipelines, message brokers (Kafka), and caching layers.
• Optimize for throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience.
• Implement unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Improve development processes and system observability (monitoring/logging).
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship features on aggressive timelines.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions.
