Job summary

Workana is seeking a Senior Python Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will develop scalable backend services using Django and Flask, build RESTful APIs, and contribute to a microservices architecture that powers our platform.

You will collaborate across the Americas and beyond, mentor teammates, and drive code quality and performance improvements in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend development experience in Python.
• Proficiency with Django and Flask frameworks.
• Strong RESTful API design and microservices experience.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud experience with Docker/Kubernetes and AWS; familiarity with Azure.
• Ability to work independently and in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python frameworks (Django/Flask).
• Define and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture with front-end and product teams.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, security, and data protection.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices for code quality and documentation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in agile sprints, planning, and retrospectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster knowledge sharing.
