Job summary

Masimo is seeking a Sr Designer, Printed Wiring Board (PWB) to design, develop, and document complex PCB layouts for medical device technologies. You will collaborate with Engineering to deliver high-performance, manufacturable hardware from concept through production.

This onsite role is based in Irvine, CA, and requires 5+ years of PCB/PWB design experience, proficiency with PCB CAD tools, and knowledge of IPC standards, DFM/DFA/DFT.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PCB/PWB design experience in a product development environment.
• Proficiency with PCB CAD tools (PADS, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro) or equivalent.
• Experience designing multilayer, high-density, and mixed-signal boards.
• Knowledge of IPC standards, PCB manufacturing processes, and DFM.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex multilayer PCB layouts for new product development and sustaining engineering.
• Optimize board designs for electrical performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost, and quality.
• Partner with Engineering teams throughout design, validation, and production.
• Develop and maintain PCB design documentation, engineering releases, and manufacturing deliverables.
• Support prototype builds, design verification, engineering changes, and production transfers.
• Apply DFM, DFA, DFT and IPC standards throughout product development.
• Drive continuous improvement through design reviews, root-cause investigations, CAD standards, and supplier collaboration.
