Masimo in Irvine, CA seeks a Sr Designer, Printed Wiring Board to design and document complex PCB layouts for medical device technologies, collaborating with engineering to deliver high-performance hardware from concept to production.

The role requires strong PCB CAD skills, experience with multilayer boards, IPC standards, and PLM familiarity; onsite work, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PCB/PWB design experience in product development.
• Proficiency with PCB CAD tools (PADS, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or equivalent).
• Experience designing multilayer, high-density, and mixed-signal boards.
• Knowledge of IPC standards and DFMs.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex multilayer printed wiring board layouts for new product development and sustaining engineering.
• Optimize board designs for electrical performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost, and product quality.
• Partner with Engineering teams throughout design, validation, and production.
• Develop and maintain PCB design documentation, engineering releases, and manufacturing deliverables.
• Support prototype builds, design verification, engineering changes, and production transfers.
• Apply DFM, DFA, DFT and IPC standards throughout product development.
• Drive continuous improvement through design reviews, root cause investigations, CAD standards, and supplier collaboration.
