Job summary
Ferrotec in Livermore, CA is seeking a Senior Process Development Manager to advance thin film deposition and support customer success using PVD technologies (sputtering and evaporation). The role combines hands-on experimentation with light team leadership and close collaboration with engineering, sales, and applications teams.
You will operate deposition systems end-to-end, design experiments, analyze results, and translate customer needs into process solutions.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in engineering, physics, or materials science.
- 10–15+ years hands-on thin film deposition experience (PVD).
- Ability to operate deposition systems and metrology tools independently.
- Experience running DOE/SPC analyses and interpreting results.
- Proven customer-facing experience in technical environments.
Responsibilities
- Independently operate PVD systems (sputtering, evaporation) end-to-end.
- Design, execute, and analyze thin film deposition experiments.
- Lead customer demonstrations and acceptance tests.
- Translate customer requirements into robust process solutions.
- Transfer developed processes into production and customer environments.
- Mentor a small team of scientists and engineers.
