Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Sr. Lab Engineer to own the photovoltaic test lab supporting solar array development. You''ll run precision equipment, calibrations, and lab readiness, translating scientists'' needs into well-run lab execution and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 6+ years operating and maintaining precision lab test equipment in high-precision environments.
• Experience calibrating equipment, preventive maintenance, and maintaining uptime.
• Ability to design/test fixtures and data acquisition setups for complex measurements.
• Maintain clean, traceable test data and documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex lab equipment and test setups to root cause.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operation of the photovoltaic test lab, including calibration schedules and maintenance.
• Collaborate with senior solar scientists to scope test requirements and execute setups.
• Provide feedback on test setups, fixturing, and equipment capabilities.
• Manage concurrent test requests across scientists, communicating status and risks.
• Ensure data integrity and traceability with proper version control and documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with vendors for equipment service.
• Develop and maintain test procedures and train lab staff.
• Drive lab-wide process improvements and mentor other lab engineers.
