Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA is seeking a hands-on Lab Engineer to own setup, maintenance, and optimization of build processes and test flows for battery cells and packs. You will manage equipment such as ultrasonic wirebonders, epoxy dispense systems, thermal chambers, and robot arms while maintaining 5S standards.

You will write and improve work instructions, mentor teammates, and collaborate with cell test, build, and design engineers to keep the lab running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 2+ years of hardware development or hands-on engineering experience in a lab.
• Experience handling lab resources, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to work with loosely defined requests and drive them to completion.

Responsibilities

• Take loosely defined requests and turn them into a concrete lab plan.
• Prioritize and manage your own queue with limited supervision.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment and bring new equipment online.
• Prepare builds and work orders by staging parts and documents; run tests end to end.
• Identify lab process gaps and drive 5S and documentation improvements.
• Mentor new teammates and collaborate with cell test, build, and design engineers.
