Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the PAA Manufacturing Test engineering team in Kirkland, WA. You will own people, processes, and equipment for functional and environmental tests of satellite hardware, guiding the team through ambiguous challenges and delivering high-performance test operations.

You will build a strong engineering culture, set clear goals, manage performance, and partner with cross‑functional groups to drive continuous improvement and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 5+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of test process and frontline support engineers supporting phased-array antenna manufacturing via functional and environmental testing.
• Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent; conduct performance reviews and support career growth
• Set clear goals and priorities for the team; foster a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement
• Serve as an escalation point for technical issues and unblock the engineering team during daily test operations
• Own the strategy and execution for functional tests in compliance with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1540 and related standards
• Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, bring-up, and commission automated test equipment (EGSE and test systems)
• Troubleshoot and identify root causes of issues in test processes; implement corrective actions
• Establish and continuously improve functional test processes to maximize output
• Partner with IT Infrastructure to resolve networking issues with test equipment
• Establish calibration procedures and visual management of production tooling and equipment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal engineering, test software, reliability, quality, and program management
