Job summary

Hanwha Renewables is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead technical diligence, design, and energy performance forecasting for big PV and ESS projects in North America. You will support preconstruction activities, run performance models, and provide inputs for PPPs and EPC exhibits.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in utility-scale PV/BESS, expertise with Helioscope, PVSYST, and related tools, plus strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams and external

Qualifications

BS, MS or higher in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or closely related numerate discipline.
At least five years of hands-on experience in site diligence, design engineering and energy forecasting for utility-scale PV/BESS.
Exposure to PlantPredict, NREL SAM or Helioscope is an advantage.
Experience with PV module QA, PV plant performance or inverter troubleshooting is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical info clearly.
Proactive problem solver with foresight to mitigate risks.
Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a virtual team.
Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.

Responsibilities

Consolidate project data for site diligence, feasibility and cost estimation.
Perform design evaluations with Helioscope, PlantPredict, SIFT, PVCASE and AutoCAD.
Model energy production using PVSYST for all projects and facilities.
Improve system designs to optimize production yield and returns.
Assess 3D shading and terrain with PVSYST/Helios 3D to model losses.
Support development of technical scopes and EPC exhibits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Stay updated on new techniques and best practices in clean energy.
