Job summary

Eikon Therapeutics, Millbrae, CA, is seeking a Senior Research Associate 1 to support purification and analytical workflows for drug discovery. You will perform high-throughput purification, apply SFC methods, and run mass-directed purification using Waters Autopurifier and Agilent systems.

You will manage large sample sets, maintain instruments, and collaborate with medicinal chemistry to optimize workflows. This role emphasizes data integrity, troubleshooting, and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 2 years of related experience or Bachelor’s with 4 years in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience purifying small molecules by reversed-phase HPLC and/or SFC with MS-based fraction collection.
• Familiarity with Waters Autopurifier and Agilent mass-directed purification systems.
• Fundamental understanding of chromatography principles and instrument operation (analytical and preparative).
• Experience in high-throughput environments and data management; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable working independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-throughput and SFC purification of small molecules to support the medicinal chemistry team in Millbrae, CA.
• Run mass-directed purification using Waters Autopurifier and Agilent systems with MS-based fraction collection.
• Adapt and develop chromatographic methods for purification of small molecules.
• Maintain and troubleshoot preparative and analytical instruments to minimize downtime.
• Manage large sample sets and data; document procedures and observations.
• Compile, analyze, and present purification and analytical data to the team.
• Contribute to team efforts to improve process efficiency and expand purification/analytic applications.
• Monitor inventory of consumables and communicate needs to keep work on schedule.
