Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Scientist in the Analytical and Purification Sciences (APS) group within Discovery Research to lead purification and analytical efforts for small molecule drug discovery.

The role involves executing purification on milligram to gram scale using HPLC and SFC, mentoring colleagues, and collaborating with medicinal chemistry teams to develop efficient workflows and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS with postdoctoral and/or industry experience in purification.
• Hands-on experience with analytical and preparative scale HPLC and/or SFC.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and communicate with medicinal chemistry teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high laboratory productivity.
• Mentor colleagues and potentially supervise direct reports.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemistry teams to develop methods for analytical and purification problems.
• Execute purification on milligram to gram scale using HPLC and/or SFC for drug discovery projects.
• Keep accurate records per AbbVie policies and stay abreast of current literature and industry trends.
