Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a major in business administration, public administration, or related field.
• Five years of accounting-related work and purchasing experience are required.
• Three years in state or governmental purchasing procedures are required.
• Experience with personal computers including Microsoft Excel is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% and to work extra hours as needed.
• CTCM/CTCD certifications are preferred or obtainable within six months.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities for the Purchasing Management team for goods and services.
• Develops guidelines, procedures, and policies for procurement.
• Plans, assigns, and supervises staff; conducts evaluations.
• Reviews purchase documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepares reports for agency management, Commissioners, and the Legislature.
• Oversees implementation of changes from new procurement legislation.
• Collaborates with other divisions and stakeholders on procurements.
