Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, with four years materials experience.
• Eight years of diverse professional and managerial experience including financial/budget responsibility.
• Ability to lead and develop a purchasing team toward departmental goals.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to work with internal and external contacts.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides operational level strategic direction for North American purchasing team and local purchasing activity.
• Leads and facilitates efforts in support of world-class practices and coordinates with global teams.
• Researches and recommends new products, processes, systems, policies, and procedures for future pursuits.
• Develops long-term corporate goals and translates them into short-term plans for the purchasing team and budgets.
• Maintains a quality supplier base and collaborates with suppliers and Corporate Materials to meet product development and cost goals.
• Oversees VA/VE initiatives and cost reductions while guiding staff to achieve objectives.
• Negotiates contracts with world-class suppliers and fosters cross-functional relationships.
