Job summary

Mac Papers + Packaging is seeking a Buying Group Manager in Jacksonville, FL to lead a team of buyers and optimize inventory purchasing processes. You will work with the Director of Supply Chain Analytics to maintain stock levels while balancing availability with cost.

The role requires 8+ years in procurement, strong leadership, and proven negotiation skills. Must have ERP experience (Infor, SAP, Epicor) and advanced MS Office capabilities to drive data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in procurement or supply chain with increasing responsibility.
• Minimum 2+ years supervising buyers or purchasing staff.
• Experience in wholesale distribution; paper/packaging a plus.
• Proven track record in strategic procurement and inventory management.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Analytical mindset with data-driven decision abilities.
• Advanced MS Office and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily buying function and manage POs to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead a purchasing team with coaching and development opportunities.
• Negotiate with vendors to improve lead times and pricing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize replenishment and inventory strategy.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and procurement process improvements.
• Manage procurement contracts and ensure compliance.
• Maintain regulatory compliance across purchasing activities.
