Job summary

Morrisette-Packaging in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Purchasing Agent/Buyer to manage procurement of materials at the best cost and ensure reliable delivery. You will work with suppliers to achieve lowest total cost and maintain ongoing supplier relationships.

The role requires ERP proficiency, strong communication, and at least 5 years in purchasing. Prior distributor experience is a plus, and the position is full-time in a Charlotte office setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• ERP systems experience required.
• 5+ years in purchasing role.
• Distributors' experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage all purchases through ERP forecasting system for commodities and custom products.
• Evaluate suppliers on price, quality, availability and other criteria.
• Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
• Resolve pricing issues on supplier invoices.
• Track, organize and confirm delivery of goods and supplies.
• Coordinate quotes with Account Representatives and ensure timely responses.
• Review back-order reports and open purchase reports weekly.
• Create item numbers for new items according to company guidelines.
• Manage and approve intercompany stock transfers.
• Arrange sampling and expedites as needed.
• Arrange returns for defective or non-moving items.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
