Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a skilled Pump Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair and install a variety of pumps and related equipment across the Cleveland region. The role requires substantial field experience with pumps, motors, valves and electrical systems.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in plumbing and electrical work, holds a valid driver's license, and can manage on-site projects, safety procedures, and emergency response with professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years Plumbing and Electric background.
• Experienced in all facets of the plumbing trade.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair centrifugal pumps (domestic water, HVAC pumps, submersible, column, sump and sewage).
• Inspect, modify, maintain, repair, and install pumps, motors, valves and related equipment for water and wastewater systems.
• Troubleshoot pressure reducing valves in domestic water booster systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair sewage ejector pumps, controls and systems.
• Diagnose electrical issues including three-phase and single-phase systems.
• Troubleshoot, program and modify VFDs for wastewater and booster pumps.
• Lead projects including system replacement, circuit design and piping layout with other stakeholders.
• Respond to emergencies during normal hours and on-call for 24-hour service.
• Perform Planned Maintenance and recommend repairs or calibrations as needed.
• Follow electrical safety and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
• Maintain tools and safety equipment; operate tools to construct and repair equipment.
• Work professionally and collaboratively; build cooperative relationships with coworkers and external agencies.
• Supervise and manage workflow and project timelines for crews.

Education

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or Trade School Diploma
