Job summary

Smurfit WestRock plc is seeking a Pulp Mill Manager to lead safe and efficient production operations in the mill, coaching supervisors and frontline teams to meet safety, quality, and KPI targets. You will manage budgets, maintenance planning, and cross-functional collaboration to drive cost control and operational excellence.

The role requires deep pulp/paper mill experience, strong leadership, and the ability to implement continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years pulp or paper mill experience.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pulp mill machinery, including digesters, washers, post-washing equipment, and MC/Thick Stock Pump.
• Strong leadership, coaching and collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn programs and software used in pulp mill facility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe and efficient production operations in the pulp mill.
• Coach supervisors and team members to meet safety, quality and production KPIs.
• Develop and manage mill budget and control costs.
• Plan and schedule mill maintenance, outages and lockouts.
• Promote safety, environmental culture and compliance.
• Build relationships with internal departments to improve efficiency.
• Maintain shop floor metrics and pursue continuous improvement.
