Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in Evadale, TX is seeking a seasoned Department Manager for the Pulp Mill to lead safe, efficient production operations. You will coach supervisors and team members, communicate performance expectations, monitor demand, and drive quality and productivity across the mill.

The role requires a strong track record in pulp or paper mill environments, extensive leadership and coaching skills, and the ability to manage budgets, maintenance planning, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in pulp/paper mill environments with 5+ years in supervision.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and safety-focused mindset required.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and improve KPIs.

Job description

As Dept Mgr, Pulp Mill, you will be responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient production operations in the mill facility. You will coach assistant superintendents, shift supervisors, and team members to meet safety, quality, production, and all other key performance indicators of the mill facility. You will communicate performance expectations to team members, monitor production demands, supervise machine productivity and quality, and manage personnel daily
