Job summary

Sustainability Engineering Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Phoenix to lead public works programs from concept to completion. You’ll own planning, design, and delivery for roadway, water, and public infrastructure projects, while cultivating long-term municipal relationships.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets and schedules, ensure compliance, and help win new work with leadership’s support. Hybrid work from our Phoenix office offered.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree; Master's or MBA a plus, not required.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on public works/infrastructure.
• Track record leading engineering teams on public agency projects.
• Fluency in civil design principles, construction methods, and regulatory requirements.
• Client-first instincts with strong stakeholder relationship skills.
• Ability to contribute to proposals and business development.

Responsibilities

• Own planning, design, and execution of public works projects from kickoff to closeout.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and contracts; ensure bidding and procurement compliance.
• Be the client’s go-to person; build trust with municipal/agency stakeholders.
• Mentor and grow a team of engineers; foster collaboration and excellence.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Use Civil 3D, GIS, and related tools to drive design quality and documentation.
• Contribute to proposals, qualifications, and client presentations.
