Job summary

City of Virginia Beach is seeking an Engineer II/III—Project Manager for the Stormwater Engineering Center. You will manage CIP projects, review technical reports, and provide design and construction support in urbanized and coastal settings.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with EIT (II) or PE license with six years’ experience (III) and a valid driver’s license. Overtime may be required to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
• EIT certification required for Engineer II; two years of progressive experience.
• PE licensure required for Engineer III; six years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work overtime for department needs.

Responsibilities

• Project management for the Stormwater CIP and related funded projects.
• Review complex reports, designs, cost estimates and drawings for stormwater systems.
• Provide design, engineering and construction support for projects.
• Bid and contract management for design and construction phases.
• Prepare materials for public meetings and stakeholder coordination.
