Job summary

The Deputy Agency Chief Contracting Officer (DACCO) role at NYC Health Department leads the ACCO’s Office, directing multiple units and a team of professionals. You will guide procurement, contracting, and purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with City rules and M/WBE objectives.

You will develop strategies to meet agency procurement needs, review procurements, and support emergency purchasing as part of public health mission execution.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of PPB Rules, City Charter and Local Laws governing procurement.
• Experience managing procurement in a government agency.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and managerial abilities.
• Superior oral and written negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Purchasing Unit to ensure efficient processing, compliance, and timely actions; develop practices to maximize efficiency and monitor price analyses.
• Lead M/WBE Unit; align policy with procurement processes and ensure timely staff training.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize procurement processes and strategies.
• Review and approve procurements, contracts, and responsibility determinations for the ACCO.
