Prince George's County Police Department is seeking a senior Buyer III (Procurement Officer 3P) to manage purchases for the department, applying procurement principles and coordinating with internal customers and contractors.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, CPP/CPPM certifications preferred, three years of experience with automated procurement systems; SAP experience is preferred. The position offers challenging procurement responsibilities within a public safety environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Retailing and Distribution or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in technical procurement work, including considerable experience with automated procurement processing systems.
• An equivalent combination of education and professional purchasing experience may be substituted.

Mansioni

• Procure a variety of materials, supplies, services, and equipment for the Police Department.
• Exercise independent judgment and initiative in procurement work.
• Manage other procurement professionals and supervise subordinate staff.
• Coordinate Ariba and SAP activities with the Office of Procurement.
• Prepare specifications, solicitations, and analyze bid/proposal responses.
• Provide recommendations for contract award in accordance with procurement law and procedures.
• Prepare monthly reports/briefings on procurement activity.
