Job summary

The Prince George's County Police Department is seeking a senior-level Buyer III (Procurement Officer 3P) to oversee procurement of materials, services and equipment for the department. This role requires independent judgment, strong purchasing knowledge and leadership of procurement professionals.

Based in Upper Marlboro, the position emphasizes compliance, contract development, and coordination with the Office of Procurement using Ariba and SAP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Retailing and Distribution or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in technical procurement work, including considerable experience with automated procurement processing systems.
• Certification as CPPB or equivalent (CPP, CPPB, CSCP, CPPO) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and internal policies.
• Develop and manage procurement contracts for police department needs.
• Coordinate with Ariba and SAP activities for automated duties.
• Act as liaison between internal customers and contractors to resolve disputes.
• Prepare specifications solicitations and analyze bid/proposal responses.
