Job summary

Prince George’s County Government is seeking a senior buyer within the Police Department's Fiscal Management Division. The role focuses on purchasing a wide range of materials, services and equipment, using independent judgment and knowledge of procurement practices.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of procurement experience, with CPP/CPPM/CSCP/CPPO certifications preferred. SAP and Ariba familiarity is favored.

• Experience with automated procurement processing systems.
• Equivalent mix of education and purchasing experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Develops procurement contracts and oversees bids.
• Coordinates SAP and Ariba activities with the Office of Procurement.
• Reviews vendor inquiries and resolves contract issues.
• Prepares monthly procurement activity reports for supervisor.
• Supervises subordinate procurement staff and ensures deadlines.
