Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Two years related experience in data entry, dispatch, or emergency communications.
• Must possess and maintain NMLEA Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification.
• Must maintain NM DPS Telecommunicator Certification.
• EMD Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers multi-line phones including 911; logs calls and radio transmissions.
• Dispatches emergency units; identifies nature and location of calls and prioritizes response.
• Communicates with police, EMS, fire, and outside agencies via radio.
• Maintains records of calls, locations, and status of field units.
• Prepares reports for supervisor or police leadership.
• Operates NCIC/CAD and related databases; ensures data accuracy.
