Job summary

Mainspring Energy, Inc. is seeking a high-energy Public Power Senior Originator to drive commercial strategy and transaction execution with Municipalities, Electric Co‑ops, and IOUs.

This outward-facing role requires a proven networker capable of originating, negotiating, and closing complex energy transactions from handshake to close. The position is remote with a strong bonus and travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in North American power or clean energy sectors.
• 6+ years of outward-facing origination/transactions with counterparty access.
• Proven history closing complex energy transactions (equipment sales, PPAs, capacity contracts).
• Deep knowledge of Public Power procurement processes and market rules.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Drive sourcing, structuring, negotiation, and closure of high-value commercial arrangements with Public Power counterparties.
• Leverage existing utility relationships to originate new pipeline opportunities.
• Represent Mainspring at industry events and customer sites; host key decision-makers.
• Position Mainspring’s generator as the solution for urgent utility needs.
• Lead negotiations on term sheets, MOUs, and purchase agreements with internal teams.
• Respond to solicitations (RFPs) and engage in IRP and bilateral pursuits.
• Feed market intelligence to product and leadership to influence roadmaps.
