The Florida Department of Corrections, Facilities Management and Building Construction, seeks a Career Service Financial Manager in Tallahassee to oversee budgeting, costing, and financial reporting for construction and maintenance projects.

The role emphasizes statewide systems management, compliance with Florida Financial Programs, and training staff to maintain accurate records and support efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience in accounting, finance, budget, public administration or communications. A degree may substitute on year-by-year basis, up to 4 years
• State of Florida Financial Programs Experience
• MFMP Experience

Responsibilities

• Applies financial management principles to evaluate and recommend changes in operational policies, procedures, and practices for departmental activities.
• Monitors, analyzes, and reports on operating costs, financial performance, and expenditures related to construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
• Administers statewide databases and systems for construction and maintenance, reviews purchase requests, reconciles funds, and maintains project spreadsheets and logs.
• Serves as the Division’s Statewide Secondary Accountholder and Auditor for P-Card Works, coordinates purchasing card changes, and provides training and support to staff.
• Compiles contract reports, trains staff, manages asset inventory, and develops budget requests, ensuring compliance and accurate financial tracking for the division.
