Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families in Orlando is seeking an Eligibility Specialist II to support the Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency, handling high-volume case reviews and back‑ups to the unit supervisor.

You will review cases, provide training to staff, and ensure timely eligibility determinations for food stamps, Medicaid and cash assistance in compliance with federal and state laws.

2+ years of experience in determining eligibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality management reviews as assigned.
• Reviews case reading errors with senior staff and ensures corrections.
• Analyzes data from quality control and trains on issues found.
• Determines eligibility for public assistance within required timeframes.
• Maintains case management duties including medical expense tracking and Medicaid file resolution.
• Identifies fraud/overpayment cases and refers them accordingly.
• Ensures electronic case records are documented per procedures.
