Job description

Newport Beach, California, United States

Love working a claim but tired of having to do sales? We have a dedicated sales team that feeds you clients, so you can focus on what you do best: investigating, building the case, and fighting for what your clients deserve. You'll also have an estimator, collections staff, and in-house legal counsel supporting you the whole way.

At Allied Public Adjusters, our mission is a world where every property loss is settled truthfully and equitably. Since 1997, we've worked on behalf of policyholders to demand what's right by using technical expertise, field investigations, and uncompromising quality. We empower policyholders with the most skillful representation, while ensuring carriers have the information they need to do what's right.

The Senior Public Adjuster is able to independently handle complex claims, building the case, owning the negotiation, and the client relationship, while providing expertise in claim evaluation, documentation, and settlement negotiation. We’re looking for a professional claims handler who advocates for the policyholder in appraising and negotiating an insurance claim throughout the claim process.

Responsibilities
Build the Case
  • Investigate claims thoroughly, beyond the obvious, and present strong cases to negotiate settlements for clients
  • Personally conduct inspections, develop scope, and write or coordinate estimates
  • Document evidence and maintain a litigation‑ready file
  • Effectively analyze policy coverage and strategy independently with advanced policy interpretation and carrier behavior guidance
  • Properly document claim files pursuant to company standards; draft high‑level reports and claim documentation
Own the Negotiation
  • Independently manage complex claims and own the estimate/submission
  • Develop effective strategies for claim disputes; lead negotiations on higher‑value and heavily contested claims
  • Run carrier inspections with command and confidence
  • Understand and add value to claims in litigation and alternative dispute resolution
  • Identify and execute on escalation needs and strategic opportunities independently
Own the Client
  • Maintain timely, phone‑first client communication and expectations
  • Provide proactive updates and manage the relationship from assignment through settlement and review ask
  • Build trust and strong relationships with clients to produce high client satisfaction and referral feedback
Leadership & Process
  • Serve as an escalation or strategy resource for other staff members
  • Influence process improvement and best practices inside the company
  • Effectively and efficiently utilize support teams such as legal, engineering, and leadership where needed to resolve claims and maximize value for clients
  • Follow internal processes, documentation standards, and timelines
  • Ability to drive regularly to the office and client property inspection sites as required
Expected Results
  • Manage, develop, and settle all assigned claims while collaborating with internal support functions (estimator, collections, legal) to maximize outcomes for clients
  • Demonstrate relentless advocacy while maintaining professionalism
  • Maintain excellent communication standards: proactive client updates, clear expectations, well‑documented outreach
  • Build trust and strong relationships with clients to produce high client satisfaction and referral feedback
  • Meet or exceed claim cycle time standards while balancing quality and urgency
  • Produce audit‑ready files with complete documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with company departments to drive results
  • Demonstrate strategic, clear‑intentioned claim‑critical thinking on high‑value claims
  • Show ownership mentality by treating every claim like it matters in a proactive manner
  • Contribute positively to the company culture and results
Requirements
  • Holds an active California Public Adjuster license
  • 10+ years of combined claims‑handling experience
  • Has personally investigated and written their own estimates
  • Track record of resolving complex coverage or valuation disputes at their own level, pre‑litigation.
  • Experience across a mix of claim types, including structure/electrical fire and water losses.
  • Litigation exposure expected: has been deposed and/or testified, at deposition or trial for an insurance claim.
