Banner Health is experiencing tremendous growth, and the Provider Recruitment team is an integral part of this growth. You will be part of a team that provides national recruitment for primary care and specialty physicians and advanced practice providers. The Provider Recruitment team comprises Physician Senior Recruiters, Sourcing Strategists, and Provider Recruitment Coordinators, all working together to provide an excellent experience for potential providers joining Banner Health.

As a Physician Senior Recruiter, you will act as a liaison between facility/department leadership, candidates, and operational teams to facilitate the recruitment of new providers. You will collaborate with practice leaders, build relationships, and advise them on candidates, processes, and best practices. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle recruitment of physicians and APPs, especially in the academic space, in collaboration with Sourcing Strategists and Recruitment Coordinators. Ensuring a positive candidate experience and managing the complexities of physician and APP recruitment are key aspects of this role. Basic understanding of immigration, medical and surgical specialties, and comfort in discussions with physicians and APPs for assessments and advisement are desirable.

This is primarily a remote position, but candidates based in Phoenix, AZ or Tucson, AZ are preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position involves recruiting executives, leaders, and physicians to meet organizational recruitment and strategic goals, working closely with candidates and hiring authorities. You will be involved in the recruitment process from opening a position through successful onboarding, representing the organization professionally and diplomatically.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Manage all aspects of leader/physician recruitment, from initial contact to onboarding, following policies and considering legal, economic, and political factors.
  2. Conduct telephone interviews to assess candidate interest and fit, document candidate information, and present summaries to hiring authorities.
  3. Evaluate candidates with hiring authorities and make hiring recommendations, negotiate employment terms.
  4. Collaborate with leadership to identify needs, outline recruitment strategies, and participate in recruitment meetings.
  5. Maintain knowledge of healthcare executives/leaders and physicians, trends, and recruitment challenges, and develop marketing opportunities.
  6. Engage operational parties to evaluate and improve recruitment policies and procedures.
  7. Track all recruitment activities and candidate statuses accurately using appropriate tools.
  8. Exhibit an executive presence, communicate effectively, and build credibility and trust with various audiences.
  9. Support the organization’s recruitment needs, serving internal and external stakeholders including senior management, legal, HR staff, physicians, and practice managers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Strong knowledge of business and healthcare, typically obtained through a bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public relations, marketing, or related fields.

At least five years of experience in executive, leader, or physician recruitment, with proven negotiation and relationship-building skills, in healthcare, public relations, business, or marketing environments. Ability to conceptualize and plan for the future based on market knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of addressing groups and senior leadership effectively.

Additional related education and/or experience are preferred.
