Job Summary

In this highly visible role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to HR, Finance, and clinical leadership, leveraging market intelligence and data-driven insights to design, analyze, and optimize provider compensation and benefits programs. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with provider compensation models, productivity-based incentives, regulatory compliance, and market benchmarking within a healthcare environment.

Lead Provider Compensation Strategy & Analysis
  • Analyze and evaluate provider compensation structures, including base salary, productivity incentives, quality metrics, bonuses, and other financial rewards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain provider compensation models that support organizational growth, physician engagement, recruitment, and retention initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on physician and advanced practice provider compensation trends, market competitiveness, and compensation design.
Conduct Market Benchmarking & Industry Analysis
  • Perform comprehensive compensation benchmarking using national and regional healthcare compensation surveys and industry data.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices related to provider compensation.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to leadership based on market intelligence and data analysis.
Support Provider Benefits Programs
  • Partner in the design, administration, and evaluation of provider benefits offerings, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, paid time off, disability coverage, and other benefit programs.
  • Analyze utilization and cost trends to identify opportunities for program enhancements and cost efficiencies.
Drive Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Conduct complex analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that provide meaningful insights to executive and clinical stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of compensation and benefits data across systems and reporting platforms.
Collaborate with Business and Clinical Leadership
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and physician leadership to align compensation programs with organizational objectives and budget requirements.
  • Consult with leaders on compensation matters related to recruitment, retention, provider productivity, and workforce planning.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
  • Support compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations impacting provider compensation.
  • Assist with compensation reviews and documentation related to healthcare regulatory requirements, including fair market value and commercial reasonableness considerations.
Design Innovative Provider Compensation Models
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a variety of provider compensation arrangements, including:
  • Productivity-based compensation plans
  • Value-based compensation programs
  • Hybrid compensation models
Specialty-specific provider compensation structures
  • Evaluate compensation plan effectiveness and recommend enhancements that drive organizational and provider performance.
What We're Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience in provider compensation, physician compensation, or healthcare compensation consulting.
  • Strong understanding of provider compensation methodologies, benchmarking data, productivity metrics (wRVUs), and incentive plan design.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Experience partnering with physician leaders, executives, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements impacting provider compensation preferred.
  • Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compensation models, including productivity-based, value-based, and hybrid compensation plans for different types of providers and specialties.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources Management required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
Experience
  • 5-7 years experience in provider compensation analysis, benefits administration, or related roles in a healthcare setting required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • - Strong knowledge of provider compensation models, benefits administration, and regulatory requirements in healthcare.
  • - Proficiency in data analysis tools, HRIS, compensation management software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • - Experience working with healthcare provider compensation plans, including RVU-based and value‑based models.
  • - Knowledge of physician compensation regulations.
  • - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
