Responsibilities

• Participates in planning, designing and implementing state of the art instrumentation for multi‑faceted research.
• Solves engineering and design problems to meet study objectives.
• Develops reports and proposals outlining machinery, design direction, and instrumentation development.
• Determines available resources and equipment.
• Develops cost and time estimates for equipment design; ensures estimates are met.
• Supervises professionals and coordinates with external labs.
• Manages quality control of work on research projects.
• Teaches research support theories and design; may perform other duties.
