Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Prototype Assembler for its North Reading, MA site to support Engineering in developing prototype PCBA hardware. You will inspect, assemble, repair and rework components within an ISO 9001/14001 environment.

Minimum 5 years in PCB rework/electronics assembly, with BGA rework, SMT and through-hole soldering, X-ray inspection, and CAD tool familiarity (Cadence/Altium). On-site role only.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical electronics training preferred.
• 5+ years hands-on PCB rework/repair or electronics assembly in manufacturing.
• 5+ years experience with BGA rework and advanced soldering techniques.
• SMT and through-hole soldering experience; proficient with hand tools.
• Experience using X-ray inspection systems; CAD tools knowledge (Cadence/Altium).
• Ability to read schematics and engineering documentation; ISO 9001/14001 aware.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, assembly, repair, and rework of prototype PCBA hardware per IPC standards.
• Replace and rework electronic components; use SMT rework tools and BGA profiling.
• Operate SMT rework equipment; perform 0201 components with precision.
• Conduct visual and X-ray solder-joint inspections and document results.
• Support NPI in hardware updates and instrument assembly; trace circuits with CAD tools.
• Maintain quality records and ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001.
