Job summary

Brooks Instrument seeks a Senior Prototype Machinist to fabricate precision components and engineering prototypes at the Hatfield, PA headquarters. You will set up and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes, interpret drawings, and work with engineers to improve manufacturability.

The role requires extensive hands-on machining experience, G-code programming, and a strong focus on quality, safety, and collaboration in a high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressively responsible machining experience or equivalent combination of education, apprenticeship, and experience.
• Experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC mills and lathes.
• Experience programming CNC equipment using G-code; Haas systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Machine precision engineering prototypes and components for new product development.
• Set up and operate conventional and CNC equipment (mills, lathes, grinders).
• Analyze drawings and specs to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop prototype parts and tooling.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment.
