Job summary

Enovis is seeking a Sr. Prototype Machinist in Austin, TX, to join the Surgical R&D Prototype team. You will translate engineering drawings into complex prototype instruments and implants, using MasterCam and SolidWorks in a high-precision environment.

You will work with cross-functional teams and contribute to manufacturability, process improvements, and documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• 15+ years experience with CNC mills and lathes.
• Experience in medical devices and/or orthopedics preferred.
• Experience with CAD packages (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with CAM packages (MasterCam preferred).
• 5-Axis CNC Programming and Wire EDM experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates as an active member of the R&D Services Team.
• Confers with cross-function teams; accepts and completes tasks.
• Uses MasterCam to create all necessary programs for required tasks.
• Operates and programs CNC mills and lathes to produce prototype and production parts.
• Inspects parts with precision measuring equipment and ensures accuracy.
• Maintains safety, cleanliness, and organization in the work area.
• May provide training and guidance to less experienced staff.
