Job summary

ARCH Medical Solutions is seeking an experienced Machinist to create precision prototypes for medical device components. The role requires working from complex drawings, setting up a range of machines, and rapidly adapting to evolving project needs.

You will collaborate with engineers to interpret drawings, develop CAM programs, and inspect parts to meet tight tolerances while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in machining or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience focused on prototypes.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation on manual and CNC machines.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines for prototype parts.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications for prototype development.
  • Develop and adjust CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam).
  • Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, and CMM.
  • Troubleshoot issues and improve processes for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineers on design feasibility.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and tool readiness.
  • Document machining processes and program changes.
  • Ensure compliance with medical device manufacturing standards.

Looking for Experienced Machinist (with Prototype Experience)

Job Summary

Responsible for creating precision prototypes of new medical device components. This role requires a high level of skill in machining, the ability to work from complex engineering drawings, and the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines, to produce precision prototype parts.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and models for prototype development.
  • Quickly develop and adjust CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) to achieve desired part geometries and tolerances.
  • Perform detailed inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM) to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, make necessary adjustments, and implement improvements to enhance prototype accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Document machining processes, setup instructions, and program modifications for future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to medical device manufacturing.

  • Associate degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a focus on prototype development and precision machining.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation of both manual and CNC machine tools.
