Job summary

Enovis is seeking a Sr. Prototype Machinist in Austin, Texas to support the Surgical R&D Prototype team. You will interpret engineering drawings and manufacture surgical instruments and implants using CAM workflows and precise machining.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, program development for complex parts, and rigorous inspection of parts to ensure accuracy and quality in a medical devices environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; 15+ years of CNC mills and lathes experience.
• Experience in medical devices or orthopedics preferred.
• 3D CAD experience with SolidWorks; CAM with MasterCam preferred.
• 5-axis programming and Wire EDM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interprets engineering drawings to produce surgical instruments and implants.
• Works with cross-functional teams within product development.
• Uses CAM software to create programs for machining tasks.
• Inspects first-run and in-process parts with precision equipment.
• Maintains records, maintains equipment, and supports process improvements.
