Job summary

Mainspring Energy in Menlo Park, CA, seeks a Package R&D Technician with a solid baseline in fabrication and assembly. You'll work in an R&D environment where work instructions may be undefined and collaborate with engineers to achieve prototype builds.

You will build components, support production builds, improve safety and productivity, and sustain ongoing testing and retrofits. Candidates should be able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and have forklift certification; welding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical assembly and/or repair, including metal fabrication.
• Experience in an R&D environment where work instructions are not fully defined and collaboration with engineers is essential.
• Ability to learn quickly, stay safety oriented, and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Build components and assemblies for generator enclosures and modify parts for prototype and production builds.
• Collaborate with engineers to fix, repair, and redesign components for manufacturability and reliability.
• Support ongoing testing and retrofits with a quick-learning build and test team.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety and productivity in the build process.
